Charles 2nd Pipe tamper c.1650.
Dimensions:H: 6.3cm (2.5")
A fine and detailed English mid 17th century Bronze or iron Figural Pipe stopper of King Charles 2nd.
This example has a nice greenish hint of natures gilding as it lost in the earth or water at some stage in its life.
There is a similar example Alastair Leslie's book "300 years of Tobacco Stoppers" published 2012. Page 11, Plate 7.
