This incredible letter from George Battes, 17th Regiment Royal Tiger,(Leicester regiment) consists of 4 pages. two with an engaging hand written letter to his family. The first page with this charming Folky watercolour of himself and a Lady on the cliff tops with a galleon in the background. Final page is the date stamped envelope for chatham (Kent) (Naval dockyard) April 22. 1843 and with original stamp.

The whole letter is framed, with the watercolour showing. It comes with photocopies of the remaining pages, The originals  are enclosed in the frame.
