Sensational a top Folk Art , Oil Stone Knife sharpening box.

Named   "W. Ward. Oct 24.1849" to one side and "Lowestoft" to the other. The lid has a carved  Fish on it, most likely a Herring as Lowestoft is an historic Herring Fishing  coastal town.

The bpx has wall to wall chip carving, is made from Mahogany, well patinated and the only example in the world.
