A Finely patinated and deeply carved example of the "Blind man of Ayreshire" carved wooden Tobacco Box sporting a bit of folk lore from the Robbie Burns poem about The witch, who couldnt cross water, pulling the horse and rider by the tail from crossing  the bridge. A wonderful trio of dogs to the front and both sides as well. Scottish 19th century.
