Possibly unique, this bespoke last or shoe manufacters board room gavel c.1900. has a brass plaque with the following engraved "NM & FA ; BARWELL" Barwell is a town in Leicestershire where a number of Shoe manufacturers were based. Possibly Applewood. Good ware to the sides where it rests when not in use and ware on the heal used as the hammer end.
