Sensational Patination. This Fruitwood English Early Spice Pot has two vertical splits (none expanding) running top to lower end. They cant be glued as the diameter at the top has shrunk relative to the diameter of the lid. It is the forcing of the lid on that has caused the splitting. However it is now stable.
The fact that it is so early and of mind bending colour it more than makes up for the splits.
The finial is lead and adds a nice weighty feel.
